Reignite the spark of magic on deck
In most cases, there is no such thing as a deck that has weathered too many storms, seen too many shores, or traveled too far.
Therefore, a total deck replacement is only needed when only a few remaining millimeters of teak are left. If there is still enough wood, re-caulking the seams and lightly sanding battens is advisable. This will give an old teak deck a fresh, golden look.
A great way to preserve and prolong the life of your deck is to protect it from water and corrosion.
Out with the old, in with the new
Typically, the deck refit process begins with the owner or captain approaching us requesting a quote for building their new yacht deck. After collecting basic information about the project, we will get back to you with an offer.
List of the basic information we need:
- Type of services that are needed
- The location of the boat
- A schedule for the project
- Type of decking material, including plank dimensions
- Specific design features that should be taken into consideration
- Other aspects relevant to the project.
Key project requirements are:
- The boat must be covered during the installation of the new deck.
- When installing the prefabricated deck, the temperature must be at least +12 degrees centigrade.
- All non-removable construction must be taken off while the new deck is installed.
- It must be easy to access all the deck areas.
- There should be adequate scaffolding around the yacht to create a safe work environment.
It is also possible to carry out the refit in Ostrobothnia, Finland. By sailing the yacht to our home base, we can arrange inside storage through our partners so that all repairs and deck renewals can be handled during winter.
