History
Scandinavian Teak Deck has a rich history. Throughout the years, we’ve managed to expand our business further and offer more decking options to our customers.
Our story
Rune Mård founded Scandinavian Teak Deck in Terjärv, Finland.
1998
2001
We took possession of 1,500 m2 of new production space at Fabriksvägen 5 in Terjärv.
Scandinavian Teak Deck expanded across geographical borders with initial refits made in Asia and the United States.
2003
2004
Flexiteek was introduced as an alternative decking option.
A partnership was established with Nautor Swan in Jakobstad, Finland.
2006
2008
We procured additional equipment, allowing us to do 3D scanning and CNC machine work.
Apart from receiving our ISO 9001 certification, we expanded our production to another facility, making our total space for production 4,000 m2.
2009
2010
Initial refits were made in South Asia, and our subsidiary MarinPool Ab was founded.
Our webshop is launched.
2011
2020
Scandinavian Teak Deck’s entity was established in Uppsala, Sweden.
Our office spaces were completely refurbished.
2021
Factory
Scandinavian Teak Deck operates in state-of-the-art 4,000 m² production facilities. Our production site is divided between superyacht and motorboat deliveries. Sail- and superyacht decks are primarily built by hand, while serialdecks are built by machinery and assembled by hand. Our efficient production methods make us very cost-competitive in a broader context.
MarinPool
MarinPool was established in 2010 as a subsidiary of Scandinavian Teak Deck.
The company operates as a staffing agency and provides skilled workers specializing in lamination, production lines, and carpentry to internationally renowned boat builders.
